Chef Judy Adler has been cooking for family and friends for over 20 years. Judy found herself drawn to the kitchen at an early age. Her earliest inspiration came from her mother, her easy-bake chef-judy-the-cook-300x300oven and episodes of Julia Child’s “The French Chef.”

Her personal chef service was the natural outcome of her lifelong love of food and cooking. Chef Judy launched her personal chef service in Boston in 2002 where she nourished hungry, time-starved professionals, including busy professionals in the medical, legal and finance industries. She even cooked for some of the Celtics players!

After five years of cooking on the east coast, she and her husband relocated to Los Angeles in the spring of 2007.

In Los Angeles she was a dedicated private chef for a studio executive and his family. Judy has experience working with a wide range of special diets including paleo, gluten-free, kosher, vegetarian and vegan, as well as with individuals trying to address health conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, through diet and healthy eating.

In the spring of 2014 the desire for a more laid back lifestyle led Chef Judy and her husband to relocate to beautiful North County San Diego, where she now serves Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Cardiff, Solana Beach, Del Mar, La Jolla, Poway, Rancho Santa Fe, and the greater San Diego area

Culinary Education

Chef Judy is a Certified Nutritional Consultant and holds a certificate in Safe Food Handling from the National Restaurant Association. In Boston she took Classes at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and through Boston University’s Culinary Arts Program.

While in graduate school Judy discovered a love of baking and this led to a stint as a professional baker at a small cafe in Providence, RI. Judy received her BA from Brandeis University and her MA from Brown University, both in Russian Language and Literature. She will gladly cook Russian specialties upon request!

Committed to using local, organic produce and sustainably raised meats, poultry and seafood whenever possible, Chef Judy’s creative cuisine focuses on seasonal ingredients and bold, interesting flavors from the Mediterranean, Asia and the Middle East, as well as updated versions of classic American-style comfort food.

Her travels throughout Spain, Italy and France provided additional inspiration and much of her cooking today reflects the flavorful, healthy cuisine she discovered in the Mediterranean.

Chef Judy’s clients range from busy families and professionals, to individuals with special dietary needs, to celebrities and professional athletes.

Ultimately, Judy believes that the best diet is also one that is best for the planet and this translates into consuming fresh, locally grown products, organic fruits and vegetables, antibiotic and hormone-free meats and poultry and reducing or eliminating the use of refined foods.
